Scale- Table
Walls, columns, stairs and floors create the most common type of horizontal and vertical space that we are sharing with each other in our everyday life. They are also the element of architecture that continues to produce contemporary aesthetics. We are always meandering around these maze-like mega-structures. They become structures that serve our purpose rather than identical architecture.
In the second animation, the first scene is a surface of a table. As the camera zooms out, the table seems to stand on a large table which is stacked on an even larger table that looks like floors and columns. This whole area is divided by different scales of tables and the staircase. A table is an object with generic functions that can be applied to various structures. It can be defined as a desk when books or tableware are placed on them. It can also define as floor depending on several desks on the vertical plane. The structure of the table becomes layered atop one another, which can be defined as a building. In the animation, the distance of the lens and the scale of tables make people hard to clarify the scale of the table in the view. These tables are which links up the whole space and defines vertical space.
